Opening to the tones of 'What a Wonderful World' Steve Jobs unveiled the all new iOS4 and showed off iPhone 4.0, updated iBooks with the ability to show PDFs as well as taking the wraps off the all new iAds service. Somehow, he managed to take a product that had been leaked weeks ago by Gizmodo and turn it into an event.

HTC HD2 - I can't believe it's not butter!

After surprisingly positive reports on the WinMo 6.5-powered HTC HD2 when it launched in the US late last year, the HD2 has launched in Australia at last via Telstra, and with multi-touch capabilities along with an amazingly fast and smooth experience, it’s hard to believe you’re really using a Windows Phone instead of a jailbroken iPhone with a WinMo skin!

A new survey from ChangeWave Research suggests surging interest in smartphones powered by Google’s Android OS, but when you look at the survey results and when the survey was done, it seems clear that the Motorola Droid launch and rumours of the Nexus One has skewed the results far too much for this survey to be taken all that seriously. iPhone 3GS: still the best?

The third coming of the Jesus phone has come at last, with the masses in their millions saying hallelujah for the much faster and smoother iPhone experience, but while trouble in paradise has ensued with reports of overheating and bugs in iPhone OS 3.0, no-one has yet properly copied the iPhone, let alone surpassed it.

Sygic’s turn-by-turn “Mobile Maps” GPS iPhone app is the first publicly available app of its kind for the iPhone 3G and 3G S, has launched in Australia through Sensis and Telstra, but what do users think, and is criticism of the $79 price justified?

Yes, the iPhone 3G S has just launched, but Palm’s own webOS revolution is doing well with a quick update, delivered over-the-air, to immediately improve stability for some apps, a dozen new apps arriving post launch, an SDK is on the way and at least 50,000 sold at launch. Not bad, for Palm… but is it enough?
